What is "Faery Seership" and where did it originate?
Seership has long been connected with the folkloric practices of Gaelic and other indigenous people, specifically as it relates to the second sight. This "second sight" is the ability to see in both the world of humans and that of the spirits. In the culture I come from it is called many names such as "the blessing", "the veil", "dreaming true" and "the knowing". The lore and practices of what I call "Faery Seership" are influenced by Celtic, Appalachian and Southern American cultures.
As a practice, I doubt that it was ever called this, however, I use it as a term for the lore and practices of the material I teach. For me, Faery Seership is a system of lore, practices, techniques and other concept elements that aim to bring forward the otherworldly gifts of the students who practice it. By otherworldly gifts I mean what I call "the gate of enchantment", which is the manner in which humans touch the unseen company and the spirits touch the individual human. Once this point of sensitivity has been identified, it can be expanded and refined through Faery Seership as an instrument for inter-species and inter-plane communication and work.
Additionally, in the Faery Seership apprenticeship program and my new book, I offer a paradigm for the seeker to approach and understand themselves as spirit beings involved in a relationship with other forms of life/ intelligence be they incarnate (embodied), discarnate (transitioned from a embodied to a disembodied state through what is erroneously called "death") and non-carnate (energetic states of life that never crystallize into physical form). Application of the Faery Seership principles and techniques allows the student to reweave their awareness into the overall fabric of life and guiding vision of this planet of which we are a part. This re-weaving brings about deep healing of the sense of "abandonment" and "disconnection" that plagues humanity because of the gift of "individuation" and "free-will". Once this is healed, immense magical potential and healing is opened out of their inherent virtue.
